e.e Second Life... I asked my friend what that game was... He showed me a video of the news bringing this game up as a "Sex Appeal Simulator". I never wanted to play 3D sims ever again.

Your friend needs to hop of bandwagons like the 4chan trolls who started them. You can do everything in this world. As for the people who always try to bullshit about "Second Life being full of sex" are hypocrites. The only way they could have gone around finding the adult material was to first agree they were 18, enable search for mature+adult sims, select the sim, click teleport and then view that sim. All of which were made by normal people and not the actual company. They don't give you an option to start having sex and you don't have genitals to begin with. Normal people first have to create objects that look like genitals, beds and whatever else you want. They then have to texture the object the way they want, script the object to perform tasks that they want dealing with sex and then make it viewable to the public or sell it on the market. The only options you have by default to help with your experience is flying and health. Depending on who owns the sim, you could have life that allows you to die or have fly enabled which will allow you to fly. Both of which are built into the game without any coding done by the players. Everything else is based on player made codes, builds and textures.

Think about this, in cosmic break you can make some female bots nude. You can then turn a small sized bot into a dildo via polygon edit for the head and then run into that nude female bot. That simulates sex and that was not provided by the company that hosts the game. YOU created the simulation of sex and textured the nude skin as well as 3d modeled a dildo from a harmless object. You WILL see nude skins around cosmic break without your permission. At least in Second Life, for those who follow the rules, you wont run into that stuff unless you search for it yourself.

Found the post pretty hilarious. The only problem is that it doesn't happen very often in CB. It's much more likely to happen in SL.

Because in CB it is not allowed anywhere. In SL it is allowed in lands that you must first confirm you are 18 and take filters off to search for said things. Also, if the game is so negative and filled with sex, why would it also be seen in the media without said things?

Older SL, but SL none the less seen on CSI.

KitKat which is the best candy ever...

The office pokes a little fun at it but it still shows the game without this "sex all over".

And just to point this out, there are companies that actually have virtual meetings for their businesses. There are actual virtual colleges that give you real college credit like an online school. It's literally a virtual world so large, you could not explore the entire thing in a lifetime.

Don't get me wrong, it's pretty easy to create objects in SL as well as making textures in photoshop... But for the animations and the coding, yes, it's pretty time consuming to do both of those things for "virtual sex". Animations can be simple once you get a hang of things but coding is not like "insert object into here"... It's a whole line of strings and numbers and other stuff.

But just to point this out, you can turn SL money into real money. Meaning the people who are making adult things in SL are making thousands of dollars off of each item they made in a game. One suit of scifi armor I made in SL made me enough money in SL to turn it into a thousand dollars for myself... However, being the selfless person I am, I randomly gave the money back to the community. The rest of it went to paying for my own land. I've not put a cent into SL from real money and yet have made well over a million Lindens, which is the in-game money as well as owned my own land and co-owned entire sims.

It tooks me a few days of actual work to make that armor. It actually took me a few months time to finish it as I was just making it as a hobby and rarely put time into it. However, if I worked none stop it would of been finished within a week. That armor within a years time made a enough in-game money to be turned into a couple of thousand of USD. That's one tiny little crappy made armor set made in a few days time. Think how much you could make if you were putting serious time into creating things and releasing new products every week or so. If one object = 2,000usd per year *for example* think about 2,000usd x multiple products. 10 products would be 2,000usd x 10 = 20,000usd per year. Obviously it depends on how good you are at what you are doing. I am proficient in creating textures in photoshop to apply them to my products. My building skills using the in-game build feature is beyond average and I can also make moderate sounds and animations. I also have access to a load of open source scripts and can script at a beginners level having enough know-how to also edit already made scripts the way I want them to work. That armor was my first actual major build. I did not even put real serious time into making it and it was never made to go onto the market. I was nagged by friends to put it up and when I did, it make a shitton of money. What would have happened if I made a serious product at that time instead? Well the money I made on that one thing has supported my land in-game for a few years and I gave most of it away. I can only imagine how much I would have made these past few years on a serious product.

It was pay2play from 2003-2005. Late 2005 they changed to free to play with the option to still pay monthly to get a small amount of in-game money per month and have the right to own land by name. However, as I already said before, I put 0 money into this game and have made thousands of real dollars that I used to give back to the community or pay for my land. Apparently you can also get a prebuilt house when you sub now as well. I found it pretty easy to make in-game money, called lindens. There are plenty of job opportunities in the world. The best paying as most people will tell you, is DJ'ing. You just need a collection of good music and a voice to match. Club owners have been known to throw out big lindens for anyone willing to take the mic and host their clubs events. If you are on the shy side or don't have a mic, there are still other jobs you can find. I originally first started making lindens as a teacher for Linden Labs, the company that hosts the game. I would teach the basics about the game in a class room as well as some advanced stuff when I felt like it. The pay was reasonable and it was a really fun job. Alas, they killed the "instructors" program years ago.
