Spurred on by my recent discovery that regular railguns are shit in the air, I decided to try and put together a Saggitary Maxis-esque AIR sniper bot. After getting the Long Beam rifle from the Weekly Gara, I decided I'd put my ideas to work. I tried to max out FLY and get to a breakpoint for the Long Beam rifle, with the second TGH breakpoint in mind. Not sure if the incredibly high cost is justified, but then again this is a prototype. There are probably better cores available for this, but I used an Aquila because I had one handy; I probably won't be using the Blaster unless they get up in my grill. As for the Kamui BS, I don't know just how cost-effective it is, but I have a real affinity for it ever since I got a couple last week. I love the fact that you can just sit there and troll lands as they rush at you with the aerial backflip you get when you're on the ground. TGGT, 2 things:
1. Thanks for helping me with my build-planning, hopefully this one isn't as abysmal as some of the others
2. GODDAMMIT, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR NAME MEANS!

Oh, and there seems to be a problem with CosmiCalc since the update... It's subtracting from FLY instead of WLK on the High TEC Beta tunes. I think I did the math right in spite of this, but honestly, I suck at math, so I won't be surprised if I didn't.

Not really, mate.

But since I'm such a nice guy...

BD: Ideally Gwyain, but if you want to go with Aquila, that's fine too. With Aquila, grab all cap+, Quick Boost and choose two between Broad Radar, Quick Jump and Float Dash, if you are able to fit Tengu BS on, you won't need Quick Jump.

LG: Ideally Thoarla LG, if you don't wish to fork out the Rt for the shop Thoarla or don't have it, then Mach Knight LG will suffice.

AM: AccelSaber AM. Air Raider AM are fine too.

BS: I'd suggest Tengu BS but you got a bit of a TGH problem, so that's out of question unless you really feel like tuning TGH. Otherwise, Balteon BS is your best option, if you don't feel like forking out some Rt for the shop Balt, Big Mountaiz BS is perfect too.

HD: Cross Raptor HD2 is fine.

LBR: Well if you have it, might as well use it. Tuning-wise, you want to focus on force and speed. Ideally grab g.force and High Air Force/High Shooter to restore whatever stats you decided to drop with g.force. If it's 3 slot, it's completely up to you if you want another weapon tune there and what you want in there.

Push FLY to 38 and TGH to 7, you don't really need more than 7 for the purpose you wish to serve with this Aquila. Obviously take TEC as high as possible, keep 1 Str for prop bit.

You can try using an M-Sized bot for Long Beam Rifle. I think it's L-sized, so M-airs can use it.

Yeah it is, but most of the good M-size AIR types are gara. The only exceptional M-size Shop bot that I can think of is Izuna Kamui Nagi. I guess I could try and do a build with her. I'll get back to you on that.

im already build her since 1 year ago... now im only lookin for 3 slot negatrons for tune triple high air force... her BD internals already good quick take off for run away ,and no need cartridge upgrade tho, make more slot for heavy weapon and tunes...

but well... if you can, get 3 slot ABR and tune it... im using negatron due im freeloaders...

.....something is seriously wrong with that build. Even my shaden can get 32 tec, 38 fly, and 23 tgh with 2 str left to spare and still slots left.

For starters; you didnt hit breakpoints; 38 is the go-to fly breakpoint; 40 is un-neccisary in most cases. TGH breakpoint at 16 means you can drop a TGH tune. Izuna Kamui BS gives nice 4 fly initially, but its cost is high for a fairly bad sub. Replace it with mecha jetter bs for much better results. PS use accesories on your bot; while they may not look absolutely amazing, they can add up to as much as 4 free stats total, potentially eliminating the need for a High Boost Beta tune, along with a High Tec Alpha tune, pushing your str into the positives for less cost bounce

And the removable BS isn't as good as the locked one, attack wise.
Though, if he's only using it for the 4fly stat... Still not good. :/

the parts (excepting the core, the thoarla lg, and the beam rifle) are all uc-obtainable too iirc
i left them at level 6, take whatever carts you like to fill the blanks

Nn, I don't have anything to say on your AIR sniper build but this:

High Tecnique BETA tunes are supposed to add 2 TEC at the cost of 1 STR and 1 FLY

a sniper should shoot far away from target, i can't even see exactly what I shoot, aim for ART position, force them to leave that cliff

Just a note for those who don't know.

Main weapon have reduced lock-on range by about 50-60. (not sure if each weapon is different due to shortage of super long range weapons during testing) It is also possible that once pass a certain range, there are extra reduction, etc; though I really can't say for sure.

Sub weapon have no apparent reduction in lock-on range.

In practice, using 428 range as example, a TBG going to out range you big time. While other sagi/no range tune guys will have a bit of trouble with 428 range.

on topic:
long beam rifle without tune is not that great.

428 range already on "i can't see what i locked. whatever, I'll shoot it anyway " level

Still, your advices were nice, and i thank you for showing them.

@ Trill: I agree with the accesories (AC in short, i think). They give 4 free stats and sometimes an extra tune slot if you're lucky with the gara or the bazzaar.
