It finally gained an English release ^_________^ Publisher XSeed has taken up production in America, while Rising Star is taking it in Europe. XSeed plans to publish the game as both a UMD for the PSP, as well as a download on the Playstation Network.

XSeed's official announcement link

The game is by Vanillaware, makers of Odin Sphere, Muramasa, and Grimgrimore! Anyone who's seen any of these past titles will know that they have beautiful hand drawn graphics, orchestrated music score, and usually well written plots to accommodate #em3

This is Vanillaware's stab at the "traditional RPG" market, but of course they'll spice it up with their own flavor. Completely customizable party and grid battle system are some of the few things I've seen so far. There's also going to be some form of online network feature, in which owners of the game send their heroes to fight for whichever nation you choose to fight for. I bought a psp the day I saw this release, as I am a huge Vanillaware fangirl.

What is this.

What is this like.

What makes it unique.

What makes it fun.

Why should I play it.

Is it free.

Just asking Smile

As for your two questions I didn't actually address:

These are honestly more your decision. Do you enjoy traditional RPG elements? Do you enjoy a flavor of SRPG with your JRPGs? Do you like creating custom characters? etc.

Honestly, I know little more than what has been teased at thus far. It's been out for a little less than a month in Japan, and they kept it secret there until the release date. I've enjoyed every game Vanillaware has put out thus far, so I have high hopes for this one.

Oh, and if this one dosn't interest you, Vanillaware is also launching Dragon's Crown for the PSP Vita and PS3 later this year, which is more action oriented, as a side scrolling 4 player beat'em up (but also with some stat building and leveling elements)

Good. Because that's half the battle.
