PostSubject: Paralyze tune and stun questions   Sun Nov 15, 2015 9:49 pm

1. does tuning paralyze on a weapon also increases the strength of the stun? or it only the increases the chance of stunning? or does it do both? for example if i tune paralyze on a weapon that has high stun (temporary freeze stun) is the stun going to become a spin stun if i tune paralyze?

2. The tune paralyze says stunning probability doubles does that mean that stunning probability can only doubled so tuning a second paralyze wont increase the stun probability?

3.Do weapons have a set stun? meaning that for example a certain weapon can do only hard stun and cant never do a soft stun or a spin stun? or is it all depends on the opponent TGH?

It upgrades the strength of the stun. Don't know about it making weapons stun more often though.

each weapon has both a stun value and a force value. Just because a weapon has a high force value doesn't mean it has a high stun value, and just because it has a low force value doesn't mean it has a low stun value. There are plenty of high force weapons with low stun, and lots of low force weapons with good stun.

Increasing the damage done(via tech tuning, force tuning, or hitting things in the back, hitting things weak to that damage type) increases the stun value that weapon outputs. IE beam weapon will stun lands better than they stun other airs, and airs with beam guard will be stunned less than airs without(because they take less damage.) Note that damage reduction from ablative armor drive cart does not affect stun.

Stun is not random. Stun occurs when a certain threshold of incoming "stun points" is exceeded. If you have X weapon at Y tec, and it stuns a target with Z tough after 3 hits, it will ALWAYS stun that target after 3 hits if no other stun points are accumulated.

To prevent easy "stun lock" from ranged weapons, the second stun seems to require more hits than the first.

Some things from my document. Tested with two different scam mods, one with para and one without.

Spoiler:

What this means is, an 11tgh bot would be first stunned after 2 hits, then stunned again after 5 more hits from a non-para-tuned scam mod. Para tuning it would cause it to stun on the first hit, and then stun again and 4 more hits(so 5 hits for 2 stuns rather than 7 hits for 2 stuns)

with 6 tgh, it would stun once after 2 hits, then again after 2 more hits. With para, it didn't stun more often, but instead produced a more powerful stun. The more powerful stun provided stronger stun resistance, so once again it took 4 hits post stun to produce a second stun.

Interesting. Thanks, Winty.

Is there any documentation on how multiple para tunes interact? In the example you gave, would using 2/3 para tunes boost the stun further from hard stun to spin stun? Would the result be worth forgoing other weapon tunes?

Also, how does this tune interact with Stun Recovery? Do they cancel each other out, or does one of them win out over the other?

Stun Recovery cuts stun time rather than stun strength. The description claims it only works on melee and special stuns (juggles, pops, etc.) Descriptions tend to lie so keep that in mind, unless it as proven already.

Not that I'm aware of. considering that 1 tune basically doubles the stun potency of the weapon(cuts number of hits before a stun in half in every scenario I tested) I'd assume that two would either triple or quadruple the potency, depending on how the numbers fall together. Likely have a better chance of creating a stronger stun as well(couldn't really figure out why/when the stun level would go up due to para tune)

Unrelated question about stun does the cart 'fast recovery' reduces the time stunned?

Stun is not a debuff.
