 The current meta?

So though I've been re-playing Cosmic Break this past few days, I took a long break before that time, I mean a really long break. I guess you could say I'm a veteran, since I was a player since beta, but I wouldn't call me a veteran because my skills are too average. Don't let the post count fool you, this is just a new account since my old account got terminated.

So what's the current meta, just give me a rundown/summary, where are all the hoppers, lagkuns, Seraphs, and Ivises (Ivides? Ivi's?)

Yeah that kinda stuff. I'll probably introduce myself sometime later.

hoppers: gone, land gunner is basically dead. Most land gunners with be boost run builds.
lagkuns: lol
seraphs: basically useless. Some people still use seraph FC but it's only good for farming score when your team has already won the match lol
ivis: new ivis is still strong.


strongest things are overcost melees(ivis among them) that get easily shut down by close range airs that nobody plays, and long range alpha air builds that have effective range so long that they never have to put themselves at risk of being attacked. There's also glide boost airs, which only a limited number of things can hit, but the things that can hit them get cheesed hard by the aforementioned 2 things.

Many things are using alpha builds nowadays. Mostly air and arts. Arts can defend themselves from incoming melee. Airs now has either steal boost or can refill boost gauge. Lotsa units with annoying debuffs. You'll encounter some that are beyond their normal roles like, a bot healer that has very good melee, an art that can fly in the air and attack a mob, another art that can be good on both defensive and offensive with having less trouble of being hit. Airs, Lands, Arts now can use railguns (specifically for each type).

Bikers. You'd hate them, definitely.

Heals: We do have something that people often identify a "bubble healers". They can use a (usually sub)weapon to install a heal field, that replenishes 100 HP, in case of the two mecha capable of using them, you get either Long Range or Clearance from them. In case of the two moes who can pull them off, you only get the heal, but they come with more built-in heals/utility attacks. A lot of people consider them the biggest form of cancer, but tho are usually the people using brainddead attacks to farm said units (who often use little offensive parts). What really makes them annoying is that they may use their own fields.

Anti-Homing: this is pretty much dead, thanks to a bunch of units who ignore it in one way or another. There's even an Anti-Homing-Canceler debuff now.

Melee: we got some extra Ivis versions, a lot of bots with a guard mainweapon (comparable to Eris' wings) and almost all of them use that hyper armor eature in which bullets are ignored...and the there's Pina Rueberry a melee unit with an industructable unit WB that allows her to return to it' position at any given them and uses a lockon-subweapon that deals melee dmg (and the forced flinching we all know and love so much...). So yeah, you don't need to lag to go underground or warp now. IT'S A FEATURE.

Why yes, the rest are alphastriking units, mainly with jamming effects. Check out AIRs that deal disorder+bad homing, or use bullets that spawn right next to the target, or the Decoy Dashes, evasive maneuvers that spawn a meatshield behind the user, making your lockon aiming for that, rather than them (naturally we got that in form of a removable booster by now).

We also got vehicles now: played like normal bots but can be boarded by at least one other player. Their most popular variants would be Diernacram (spaceship looking AIR who enters some sort of super mode when having a rider) and XMas LazFlamme (LND unit with Air Run, doesn't do much on her own but can transport two players). The AIR ones can't be used by ARTs btw.

Oh and yeah, the Bikers (Alexa Ari and Kal Valentine) as well as their little cousin Cannonballer DR, are annoying AF. They need to move a second or two before reaching their maximum speed and use the spacebar (= flight time) to do a "drift" (they can go left and right w/o it, but that needs a lot of space, while drifting allows them to change directions easily). Their movement speed is so fast, that you can hardly hit them and they do cause dmg by simply touching you if they're at their max speed. Very annoying, because they will often cause half of your team to go ater them while doing 0 dmg, the moes can hit pretty hard with their weapons to, other than that you can easily avoid them by going to the next best ledge though (<---this is often overlooked, even by biker players). Note that despite the booster flares, they do not use boost gauge to run.

Mmh...I often overlook essential stuff and fail to communicate my complete thought process in english. Just saying l0l

Momiji Hopper is probably best land gunner now but using her for farming cards is not efficient

Lol noodle.

There is no real specific "best" LND gunner these days. Luto Sekka, S. Blast Railgun bots and things that can equip an anti-homo bit while having anti-melee measures are ones to go for these days.

I tuned my Raven and I don't even use her anymore Sad Normally I'd use Nora or Momiji if I want to hop around

w I didn't even list raven in there. Raven is a bot that needs a lot of practice to use since she can't get anti-homo bits.

Part of my sentenced got cut off but im surprise you tuned two ravens. If I were to tune two of the same moe I'd do either two Stella or two Sunny for easy card farming

If I wanted to be a tryhard and farm cards then fuck that I'd tune the shit out of two armadas and call it a day and be a 110% turbo tryhard faggot.

Too bad I only play this game to have fun with bots I like.

From what I can gather from all these, I need serious upgrades. Does bugsy's shock arms (AM2 and AM3) still disable melee? Is Pulsardio practically useless now what with all the other jammer bots that cause your weapons to go haywire?

Also I saw a sturbanger in a video, in youtube, from 2014, and it just looked like those core missiles are homing a lot better than I remember, and deal more damage. Or is that just me?

What would you guys suggest? I usually like playing ARTs, but also like playing long ranged SUPs sometimes. Preferably not from gara, because the only thing I got from gara worth mentioning was BikinEve, from those tickets we were given.

What did ou actually get? Sturbanger is still DURRbanger, there're a lot of tryhards out there though. Then again you might have seen Sturbanger Mark 1 or 2 (iirc they're Mark one and two or maybe mark 2 and 3), which are upgrades of Sturbanger.

@Pulsardio: walp, he never did that much to begin with. You could still use him, it's not that he got nerfed or something, it's just that there're a lot of units who will score better in jamming. IE Melfi HEART: she gets a really dumb subweapon that gives the same debuff but has more force (way more), more speed and comes on a core that doesn't need an EIW or such.

@Bugsycait: the Shock Tonfa is still fine (and now in shop), the BS is ok too, especially when used against people who have no idea what a Bugsycait BS is (hich is rather common). I'm not sure if it still blocks bullets as intended. Yet again there're better options.

If you happen to have a DX coin you might want to look into that to (Store can be found in the anniversary area, Misty next to the cosmos pot of that place). I think there're some topics regarding the current one (we had 2 or 3 different shops before). In terms of jamming Squidol Girl EV is one of the better units (she spawns a slow field beneath her target). I terms of overall performance Hygerkun MOD is super popular (the core has a really dumb stun rate, high dmg and even adds charge delay). Stay away from Lily Rain EVE THETA though.

Well, I have Pulsardio vanilla, he was great even when Nicole Malice was already released, used to almost always get "best jammer." CapeMike also had an old guide here that built Pulsardio almost like an anti-everything, Bugsy AM2, for anti-melee, Large Zook, for anti-air, and dio missiles for anti-art, you could also replace the viper shield over the bugsy arm for a burner which gave the thing even more effectivity against lands. I bought bugsy-boom and put his shock tonfa on the right arm, and bugsy's AM2 on his left arm, its not as effective, since it doesn't combo, I usually just go with bugsy AM2 to block attacks and hit melees, even though I don't really know if I'm actually disabling them. Also snail legs.

The bot I've stuck with for a long time is Destructor, also gave him snail legs, accelsaber arms, box missiles on his left, and 1 way missile on his right.

I also got saggy vanilla, but I'm horrible with aiming.

I'd probably make a new account, are there any advantages for new players/accounts over old ones?

NEVER EVER do this anymore. Being burned works different now in the fact that you can walk FASTER instead of slower now.

Also, try to get Chloe, Abyss Hu, Captain Sunny, Killica or Vanguard Fencer where possible. They're all available in shop AND are (to some extent) the current meta. Illumis and Lupette have the best AMJs out there, while Lala and Medicball is for free support points.

If you have a DX coin, take Luto for easy modo.
