Is that that Ne pon Rai pon one?

I don't skip CGs, I'm just more into the stories and such.

Yeah, it's the Na-pon, Rai-pon one.
I honestly did not like NaponRaipon, since it didn't have any kind of story, and the game itself was too easy (continuously won first place even on Hard).
The real games I play from Navel were Oretsuba (Prelude, Original, and after story), the entire Shuffle Series including all its sequels and spinoffs, and now Sekajyo, which they released on Christmas Eve.

As I said, Story is the best part, followed by CG. =P

I've played a few, though mostly Key stuff. Almost finished LB! EX, though I have to finish up Saya's route at some point. Also have Kud Wafter waiting to be played through while I'm busy with the Rewrite demo (though teeeeeechnically rewrite isn't an eroge as it is a galge). Also have to catch up on Umineko at some point.

If you're going to play Key's games, you should DEFINITELY watch its anime too.
P.S. I don't see Clannad in there +w+
Higurashi is good, even though it's frigging long XD

@ironpen27 wrote:
how do you translate those games?

i tried to play once but its in jap so...i cant!

Most Eroge players use AGTH + Translator Combination. The translator usually being the Full Version of Atlas V14.
I on the other hand use Cliphooker with EZtrans, which translates everything to Korean.
On the other hand, I've played some games without translators, and even as I can't understand every single kanji, I can read katakana and hiragana.

Zeipher is currently downloading a ton of Eroges then going to play them soon after they are all done. Smile

What titles? I'll tell you now that there are good eroge and bad eroge. The Good ones being the ones with a touching story, and the bad ones that are categorized as nakiage.

Notice how eroge is pronounced--(Ero-geh)
Usually, what is classified as "eroge" is a company's work: See Key or Navel in our discussion. They make these eroge as a part of their products, so sex-oriented games like the ones you might find on Newgrounds are not part of this category.

For your reference, you probably saw a lot of Eroge CG in those games you find at Newgrounds, since people who make those games for free use the sprites or CG of Eroge.

Also note that for a game to be considered an eroge, it absolutely needs to have the following.
1) A Definite Plot where (usually) you must "Capture" Heroine
2) (Eroge usually has more than one heroine. There are exceptions)
3) An H-scene
4) CGs created directly by the producers

I'd guess that games at Newground satisfy number 3, but it doesn't satisfy any others, making it "minor"

Weird titles... (Looked up on VNDB)
I'm not too much of a fan of rape or "dark" stories like that...

I prefer the cute eroges, like these
Tenshin Ranman
Flyable Heart
77 Sevens
Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa nai <-- HOLY SHIET! THEY'RE PRODUCING AN ANIME FOR THIS!!! DO WANTS!

I like the Leaf Soft volume 5 pack.
It has a card game and a dungeon crawler RPG!

Though, I hope more people have tried it out.

Yume Miru Kusuri
Really? Really!

Well, that's....close XD

Seeing as Dengeki G's hasn't talked about it at all, I assume no official one. So...ya, it'd have to be doujin, and I don't think they made one (from my knowledge anyways.

OH SHIIIIIII----!! affraid affraid affraid

oh, @Shance,
There is an English Version of Shuffle, it's just licensed by MangaGamers. I'm sure that if you googled it, you'll find a torrent of it easily.

On the other hand, I've played too many titles to list, and I really don't feel like going through my library to make that list.
I'm surprised, though, that Shance played the entire Shuffle Series yet doesn't know about Oretsuba... Let's look it up, yes? 8D

Utawarerumono was also a good title, and Unisonshift is a MUST for all eroge-players.
Kikouyoku Senki Tenkuu no Yumina <-- Also a good game with nice graphics and music =D
Palette has some cute artwork in their Games, and I'm recently turning to Whirlpool, Lump of Sugar (Hello Good-bye was released recently), and Yuzusoft as well. Recommending all their works *thumbs up!*

Pah, mistook Little Busters for Angel Beats. I think I beat LB around two years ago. Can't remember it quite clearly.

Speaking of LB, I should finish playing Kud Wafter ftw. I haven't had the time since I lost interest with all the Kud marketing and whoring. Doesn't sit too well with me.

Troll moment was successful though, sunjae. Razz

PostSubject: G Senjou no Maou   Mon Jan 10, 2011 1:50 am

I'm surprise that no one here mention G-Senjou no Maou, "The Devil on G-String" and no its not about devils in gstrings. Its a really good thriller and suspense visual novel with an epic plot, better than FSN and Tsukihime.

Azai Kyousuke might seem like just an average student by day, but he is actually the adopted son of the most powerful Yakuza boss and spends his free time ruthlessly coordinating the family business, all in hopes of one day paying off the massive debt his real family owes his adoptive father Azai Gonzou. One day, a strange girl named Usami Haru transfers into his class and accosts Kyousuke for information about the criminal mastermind known only as ‘Maou’. Later that day, Kyousuke receives a challenge mail from ‘Maou’ himself, and was also ordered by Gonzou to take down ‘Maou’ for trespassing upon their business territory. As Kyousuke joins Usami in her hunt for Maou, he soon finds out that Maou’s deadly and vengeful machinations are not only directly targeting him, but also catching his friends and family in the crossfire.

The story of G-senjou follows the cat-and-mouse plotting and counter-plotting between Usami, Kyousuke, and Maou, with a focus around the themes of revenge and forgiveness as each of the three comes from a tragic background that deeply intertwines with one another. After the 1st chapter exposition, chapter 2–4 each features a major scheme from Maou which revolves around one of the side-heroines, and you can choose to branch off the main story into their individual arc/endings. However, none of those paths are even remotely as good as the main, so unless you’re aiming to clear every heroine’s story and build your way to the finale, just go straight for Haru’s path in chapter 5.

Although each chapter has it’s share of slower, slice-of-life scenes to develop the characters, these scenes are mostly short and distributed. The story itself becomes quite addictive once Maou’s challenge fully hits the heroes, leaving them reliant on their deduction skills to unfold layers upon layers of false leads and traps. Akb2’s excellent scripting really played the suspense and drama for all its worth. There were also quite a few plot holes and occurrences that were simply too convenient (e.g. Kyousuke’s periodic amnesia), but it’s pretty easy to accept these ‘as is’ given the great job they did in presenting and explaining every step of the schemes.

Then there’s Usami’s ending, epic beyond words and indescribable without spoiling one of the game’s many plot twists. It’s by far the best visnov finale I’ve had the pleasure of reading thus far, and the entire game is worth playing even if just for this alone…

Oh and the main antagonist "Maou" is voiced by Jun Fukuyama, the voice of Lelouch. There are so many similarities between Lelouch and Maou its almost like Suzaku and Asbel/Syaoran.

Oh and the main plot is kinda like Death Note except in a realistic setting, everything is plausible irl, and not much asspull.
