PostSubject: Bearer of Chaos Guide   Fri Dec 21, 2012 5:32 pm

I have dedicated this guide to the many clueless people running around the event room feeding and not helping the team.

The first important thing is you can never carry the mission by yourself, everyone has to work together and avoid meaningless deaths.

Mission Objective:
Stage 1
Destroy the 4 pillars around the map, they are located at East Gate, South West corner, West Gate, and North Gate.
Try to move as a group and destroy one pillar at a time.
Ideally the order should be East, South West, West, and lastly north.
The reason why you want to destroy North Pillar last is because that's where the K-Ogre spawn after you destroyed all 4 pillars. If you destroyed any other pillar last, the whole team has to travel across the map and north gate, and this sure will cause a lot of necessary deaths. If the team destroy North Pillar last, they will be in battle formation ready for the K-ogre the moment is spawns.

Important:
If K-Ogre comes wrecking havoc near a pillar your team is trying to destroy, abandon that pillar and go for another. K-ogre eats up noobs pretty fast and we don't want our BP to drop.

TLDR
Move as a team, destroy pillar in this order: East, South West, West, North.

Stage 2:
Killing the K-Ogre, this stage is pretty straight forward, try to concentrate all your firepower and take down the boss. Move as a team and you have so much HP that leaves you plenty time if you are low on hp. Fall back from front line and go get healed. The supports should stick together in a safe place north of north gate for ppl falling back.

Few pointers:
1. I see so many people running around the map trying to kill random grunts and goons, it's frustrating. Yes you boost your score and make yourself look good by having high damage at the top of the scoreboard but your contribution to the mission is 0. These grunts you kill will regenerate anyway. If you are gonna kill grunts at least the ones around the pillar and protect the supports and pillar breakers. What's the point of getting on top of the scoreboard if your team still lose? You pretty much just wasted all your time getting no mission rewards.
2. Good supports to have are Regina (healing), Rone (extend support), Fluene (ammo replenish), Orin, Rouche (ART but she sets up barrier around support/breaker groups). Ideally you want all the supports at one place and not scattered everywhere so teammates can get all the support/heal at one spot. In my personal opinion, it's more beneficial for the musicians just play their individual instruments for buffs instead of wasting time trying to harmonize.
3. Always look at your radar, the team usually has no problem breaking the first pillar (East gate), but scatters afterwards. The team should all move south west after the east gate (moving down and left on the map for those who are not good at directions). If there K-Ogre is around and protecting a pillar, forget it and try to destroy another one.

I was wondering if we can leave this thread in the general section for this week because that part of forum seem to get more views.

More views = potentially more wins for us.

There's a lot missing from this:
Bots to use
Builds
Preferable weapons
Specialized tuning
Loadout efficiency
etc,

This is a better place as it helps people find what they actually want to look at and makes the forums cleaner.

Ammo and survival are the two biggest concerns, and they're both easy to alleviate with a healer and a Fluene.

Supports should stick together. In all eight winning rooms I've been in healers went north of the east port at the start, then moved west/northwest of the BRD gate and stayed there the rest of the match.

The time limit is a good 5~10 minutes over what you actually need to win. People need to watch their health (retreat for heals when you're at around 300~400, Gigan's melee combo hits 160s and he can warp to you whenever) and keep ammo up via fluene/chibi. As long as you do those two things (i.e. don't die - that's all it boils down to really), it's impossible to lose.

I'd like to add that K-Ogre's weakness (for second stage) is his face/frontal area of his body.

Don't shoot his back unless you have piercing weapons. His wings would keep on blocking the shots.
*But you will still get 50% bonus damage if you manage to hit his back.

Spreadfire weapons (blasters, shotguns, clusterguns, etc) would work well against him.

Some of K-Ogre's attack you should note:

1. Slash: severe shell drain. Can drain your ammo real quick.
2. Red Giant Ball: slowing you.
3. Shockwave like projectiles: also slowing you.

Do correct me if I'm wrong. bounce

Edit: thanks Sugu for the info

Back attacks still get you +50% damage on him, and keep you safe from all of his attacks. It's just that his wings block bullets unless, like you said, they're piercing.

He's also invincible during the chargeup for missile rain and gravity ball, but since this forces his tgh reduction to reset this is really more of a beneficial thing.

I did shoot him when he's charging for the missile rain. It works really well, although it's very risky.

Well, gonna correct my post above.

Also, should note that the TGH reduction for the East port seems to kick in faster than other ports. I don't know if it's just me.

You might also want to try using Vulcan Units to assist the port-breaking. Although mostly the Unit itself is shooting the mobs (easily distracted)

That would be because the east port gets focused by almost the entire team at the start, usually with hypershot too.

1. Slash: severe shell drain. Can drain your ammo real quick.

Say goodbye to at least 50% of your ammo if you get hit.

i have an idea about this mission..idk if CS will let us do this but..
..ok so what if we all force disconnect the client (alt+F4) after we run out of ammo/run out of HP, and then someone else will join the battle with PS breakers (hopefully)..of course their ammo and HP are both full when joinning. you can also rejoin after re-login to cb i guess.
The disadvantage is that you never know whos gonna go off and what kind of ppl will fill in the slots, if all the breakers force d/ced and a bunch of newbie came in it obviously wont work. And maybe it's not fair for the first wave ppl or ppl d/ced but didnt have a chance to rejoin after..however if we can actually do this i think the chance of winning would be much higher.

1. You don't get an aludra for roomhopping so...enjoy that.
2. If you actually pay attention to your HP it's really, really hard to die before you can get to a medic. Only excuse for losing is if Gigan teleports to the heal group and slashes through the fluene/healers/a bunch of low healths.

i thought ammo is the biggest problem tho..the more time it takes the more newbies will die
and if you join-quit-rejoin you still wont get the disc?

It's hard to not always be at full ammo with a Fluene.

But take note that when you got Fluene's support, and you still suffer from shell drain, the ammo won't refill.

The drain is stronger than the refill.

Don't we need people to guard the healers as well? We can use Eris, Resha, name any other melee fagbot or something with high health and tough for that can't we?

You don't need special people doing that job because any bot you should be using is equally capable of defending healers anyway.

In my experiences running chibis/fluene there's usually 5~15 people around me at any given time anyway.

I think the only real threat is K-ogre, and no one can protect heal groups from K-ogre.
The support group just have to pay attention to radar and relocate when threat gets too close for comfort.

But yes, melees are excellent to protect supports from random pesky goons. <3

maybe you can add to have at least one suicidal bot
or two that are low cost.
like, 200 cost beezles with a blaster.
completely outdo their cost and provide massive damage to the pillars.

fluene is fine but i think most ppl prefer to spam ammo on more useful things than protecting the group when they know melee doesnt have an ammo limitation, especially when the chibi circle can only fill 10% ammo of only one weapon with a not-so-short time interval.

another problem is that not every match we have a fluene player and thats where my idea comes in...if you can still get the disc after join-disconnect-rejoin it really is a free HP/ammo fill.

i wish more ppl can bring their fluene #em3 dont hide her okay?

last night we won once with 22k BP left, with a fluene, which is totally awesome
